Making fun of one of Kratos' battle sayings. According to my sister's friend, "Give them no quarter" (if that is indeed what Kratos is saying all the time; that's what it sounds like to me) means something along the lines of "Kill them all."
.........
I turned it into a pun. It's what I do ^^ What I find amusing about this is that Lloyd is actually starting to hand over said quarter (yeah, I know they use gald, and I know they don't have payphones, but should something this pointless make sense? ).
I can't get over how much more depth this version has with the background added. Granted, they don't seem to interact with it well - or is it just me? I don't know, I'm thinking maybe it looks like the bg was just slapped in there with the characters floating around in front..... Maybe the coloured version will look better. The lineart's a bit questionable in the bg, but I'd already decided while drawing it to forego outlines when I colour it, so what's there are basic guidelines for me to follow. They're in Palmacosta, by the way.
And I just realized .... I forgot to draw in Lloyd's second sword! D'oh!
And I think he does say give them no quater, I had no idea what it meant! And you could say Lloyd put his other sword down for a min (that's the sort of thing I say when I go wrong!)
I love this comic! Love this comic! XD *Fav* And Heather, don't be mean to yourself! The background looks great! And even if it didn't, you deserve credit anyway, since you went through the trouble to actually /copy/ the buildings and the bridge from the actual game! XD It looks just like it too, I can tell which parts of Palmacosta it is
ON the contraire to the background! it's high detail looks so professional as well as conceptualized and complete! perhaps the interaction would look a bit better if you accentuated the character's outlines so as to exceed the attractability of the background. If you intendt to colour it, then use pastellic or lighter hues to not distract from the characters.
The characters are beautifully rendered! Lloyd's gesture and expression are magnificient! the expression really carries out the punch-line and is very emotive (wonderful job on the eyebrows) and the gesture is proper without being cliche or pose. The "beggar" fellow's gesture as well looks spontaneous and natural.
Krato's posture is very well weighted and formed, giving a feel for him.
The girl's expression is alos wonderfull in that it remains true to the currency of the situation (not either dissapointed or disjoint).
I'd like to show you some awesome nature related work from more or less unknown artists which deserve more attention - this is a must see, you won't regret it!!!
Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it.
Each day we will feature 5 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article. In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.
I'm a lover of visual impacts. I like brilliant colors and shapes. And I decided to collect a whole stack of deviations that reflect that taste. These pieces showcased below deserve every bit of publicity you can give them. x)P
