I'm probably gonna add a background to it (most likely the moving castle), and probably add Calcifer or something. For now, this is what I've got, I'm rather proud of the colouring. I've still got way more details to do, particularily on Howl's "fantastical blue and silver suit", but it's coming along nicely so far.
Anyway, these are obviously not based off Miyazaki's designs of Howl's Moving Castle characters, but my own based on how I imaginateded them while reading the book More or less, anyway. Howl's features always changed in my mind, therefore they always change every time I try to draw him U_U;; (you've gotta read it, Chelsea!) What's funny is that I picture Calcifer way differently from his cute movie self, but he's still got Billy Crystal's voice
Nice. Howl seems so much more flamboyant here. For some reason, Sophie looks like a more mature version of Robin from WHR... maybe it's the blonde hair and pilgrim dress as opposed to Sophie's reddish hair in the book. So gorgeous though.... *sighs wistfully*
"Flamboyant" was exactly what I wanted, since that's how I picture him, so yay ^^. Yeah, one of my friends pointed out the Robin-ness of Sophie too, I didn't notice till he mentioned it, so it certainly wasnt' intentional. I did try giving her reddish-blond hair, since Sophie calls it "red-gold", but I guess it didn't turn out too well..... I'll have to work on it a little more. Thanks a lot for the comment!
Same here I watched the movie first, then read the book, and I can't decide which I like more. I actually like that the movie doesn't follow the book to a T, because now we have two different versions of the story that are both awesome.
Thanks! I'll get working on the background, as soon as I get my book back to refresh my memory of the different scenery (lent it out to a friend some time ago, grrrr, and I only got to read it once)
I only got to read it once, also... My friend lent it to me...
About the Movie VS. the Book: I think I like Howl a lot more in the movie... He's a meanie in the book! ^^ But I still luv him anyway! I love how Studio Ghibli portrayed the book.

Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it.
Each day we will feature 5 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article. In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.
I'm a lover of visual impacts. I like brilliant colors and shapes. And I decided to collect a whole stack of deviations that reflect that taste. These pieces showcased below deserve every bit of publicity you can give them. x)P
